1st Annual Daley Golf Tournament!

Since Auntie Lori and Uncle Jerry bought a cabin out at Lake Isle, Silver Sands, they decided they would make an annual weekend once a year where all of our family heads out for the weekend for 3 days of campfires, visiting, boating and tubing, golfing, and having a few pops ;) Well this weekend was the first, and we had an absolute blast! Friday we left with Lynea and I in one truck with the tent trailer, and Mark and Layton in the Mark's truck with the seadoos. We hit a big storm at about Nisku/Devon and the tent trailer started setting itself up on the highway!! That was something else! Got there about 7:30pm, unhooked Marks tent trailer and set up, had some din din and then sat around the campfire visiting and drinkin some beers. Saturday morning, our tee time was scheduled for 9:08am...did I mention we were drinkin last night? Which made for a 7:30am breakfast, and waking up to pouring rain. So our tee time got post poned until 12:45pm, the sun came out, and the rain quit...finally! Off we went, Mark and I were teamed up with Uncle Jim and Auntie Rosalie--never had so much fun golfing with a pair of 60+ yr olds, golfed 9 holes, called it a good day, loaded the truck, and switched from golf shirts to wet suits! We spent the rest of the day on the water, came back into the cabin, and prepared for awards. Uncle Jim and Auntie Rosalie organized the whole thing and put together prizes for Longest Putt, Ladies Longest Drive, Mens Longest Drive, etc etc. Mark actually won the longest put and won a "Happy Gilmore" style golf club--hilarious! Ben actually won the tournament and received the "DGT (Daley Golf Tournament) Green Jacket!"

Sunday came around, and it was back on the water for hours. A storm looked like it was rolling in so we packed it in, had a shower, ate some more (Im only 10 lbs. heavier then i was 48 hours ago), and hit the highway. The weekend made for a lot of good family fun and a ton of memories! Can't wait for next years Tourni!!
